The Life I've Always Known

by Kayla   Dec 10, 2009

My brothers are screaming
My mother is crying
My father is depressed
And the house will stay a mess.
There's nothing I can do
But just sit here and smile
And always be known as the sweet little child.
My brothers are laughing
My mother is stressed
My father is dying
While my heart beats less and less.
There's nothing I can do
But just sit here and dream
Because my life will never be as it seems.
My brothers are scared
My mother is drunk
My father is bleeding
From a very hard punch.
There's nothing I can do
But just sit here and shut my eyes
So I'm able to recreate my life with lies.
My brothers still cry
And my mother still screams
My father is still depressed
And I've only got my dreams.
There's nothing I can do
But just sit here and laugh
Because I've realized I'll never be happy on my behalf.
My whole family is smiling
My whole family is happy
Please make this memory come back
Because life is getting crappy...
