The Middle

by Kuro   Dec 14, 2009

Forced, frozen, stuck
That's where you'll find me
I'm dead on the inside
But I cant let them see
Their hero, friend, comforter
Be on edge, without a dream
I can't let them see what I've become
Smile for the camera
Breathing seems like a chore
Wasted effort. I can't do it,
Not with them watching
I've buried my dreams long ago
The smile on my face is just for show
No need to raise red flags
When they don't even know
I don't care if I live
But I won't see them cry
The only reason for which I lie,
First to them, and then to myself
I want to end my pain
But not at the price of their happiness
My suffering continues
Through this tortuous riddle
Eroding away, my soul is brittle,
Living day to day, in the middle
