It was raining that day
everything seemed paralyzed
frozen in time as if
only this moment existed
future voided
past forgotten
hiding from my emotions
killing whatever feelings
that seemed to summon themselves
focusing on what once was
only brings emptiness
the emptiness builds
and builds and builds
until the act of building emptiness is all you know
my eyes water on their own despite my resistance

like shattering glass,
i blink my eyes starring at a clear blue sky
