When I close my eyes, will they remain shut?
A passage of time, feeling in the gut
I call the reaper but he never comes
My life's a sad song that drums, strums, and hums

The feeling is gone. It's become so numb
Such a wasted life. What have I become?
And to the reaper whom I just can't call
You may be too late when I end it all

If you close my eyes, then I can find sleep
I can not find the tears for which they weep
God dammit why do they bother to care
Depriving me of what is only fair
