The hound, owl and the sacrifice

by Shinobi   Dec 16, 2009

The bloody river of their heritage
Flows in an unstoppable stream
Raging against all life's threats
All real, as if posed in a dream

The hound guards the dead soul
And so the sacrifice cries for more
Fears she had finally finished her role
Nothing further she could live for

The owl, keeper of all wisdom and thought
Spreads his dark wings for her sake
Covering bloody wounds, deep and sore
Exposing feelings, superficial and fake

And once again your heart rests
On a pillow of needles and stones
As those demons, find you their nest
Consuming your blood, flesh and bones
