Relapse

by Rusheena   Dec 17, 2009

He's making me say those words again
I've submitted to what we all know is sin
I can hear him laughing at me as I weep with shame
"No use in calling His PUTRID name," he chuckles
For a second, I almost believe his false word
But what a ridiculous statement to have heard

He's making me do those things once more
"One more instance, and you're out the door," he laughs
I start to feel even more guilty
My entire body begins to feel filthy
His grin widens with satisfaction
"Don't you miss my main attractions?" he asks sarcastically

I suddenly drop to my knees in tremendous prayer
"I know I've sinned, but I know you'll be there," I pray
The Evil One touches my shoulder in attempt to distract
"O God, I promise I won't react!" I exclaim
I open my eyes in peace, and there He stands
I rejoice and He immediately takes my hands
"KEEP ME IN YOUR HEART, AND YOUR SINS WILL CEASE TO EXIST."
I continue to keep Him in my heart, and my relapse will never persist.
