Selling my heart

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Dec 18, 2009

I'm selling my heart for free,
I don't want it anywhere near me.
For it has given me much pain,
In constant collision with my brain.

Leading me to the loneliness of rough roads,
It has caused me to explode.
And when I thought a certain love was real,
Turned out I wasn't feeling what I should feel.

Sir, do not try to shake me with your words,
There is nothing left in me to shake.
How can you break a heart that's already broken?
I pray you stop trying, for my sake.

There truly is nothing left in me to feel,
I feel my heart is bleeding much.
This heart which once was weakened by it's beloved's embrace,
In the past worshipped a lover's touch.

So, I'm selling my heart for free,
I don't want it anywhere near me.
It is time to keep it aside,
For because of it, many a night I've cried.

Yeah, it really does suck! the heart is the cause of so much anguish, yet we cant get rid of it... it is a most important part of us and we often follow it rather than what logic tells us... nice poem... keep in there, the heart is also the reasong for many gr8 things...

This is such a sad write that holds a deep
wound..wish we could give away our hearts

It is sad that anyone would feel this way about their heart, but I do understand. Hearts lead us places where our brains say don't go, but we do anyway and sometimes that causes us real pain. Well done.
