Paper Heart

by Lady Nik   Dec 29, 2009

I tried to be positive
by letting you so close.
Now I'm nauseous
from your love overdose
No matter how strong
I wish I could be
your hardcore words
still tear through me.

I was naive and kept
F
A
L
L
I
N
G
for you. Time after time
I just couldn't let us be
through. Now I'm done hanging
on to your every word. I see now
that I can do so much better
glad I wrote your name in
pencil on my paper heart
I knew this wouldn't
last forever.

*If you haven't I'd read my poem "Heartless" this it the second part to that one :) *

I loved this. Sometimes, it's better to let go than hang on. This poem is really about nipping it in the bud and saying enough is enough. 5/5

Woh.... this just blew me away Nik. Loved it! I loved your unusual style, and the "Falling " bit written that way... like the letters are falling...Lol. Cool :)) Also the title... "Paper Heart" and how the persons name was written in pencil that you can erase... and not let remain forever :) Great piece. Very well done Nik!

  • This has to be one of the best poems I've read.. It touched something inside of me, and had me gripped throughout. I love the way you wrote

    "F
    A
    L
    L
    I
    N
    G"

Worked sooo well. Loved the flow and meaning. Was beautiful!! 5/5

Great write. I dont really have much to say other than this poem was wonderfully written. Although:

I wish I could to be

^^Im not sure if it's just how Im reading, but I think that you should just do away with the word 'to' It sounds much better without it and Im not sure if you meant to put it there. Just a suggestion though.

Overall, I enjoyed this poem. 5/5
