Proceed Slowly

Heed the wise warning
carved into man-made signs
by a vigilant messenger
proclaiming prophetic word
spoken from our holy God.

Beware my kindred spirits
for many look right over
and miss its life lesson
open your eyes and learn
never miss a single step.

Take my hand worthy wife
and granddaughter lovely June
together we will overcome
this treacherous path
that challenges our strength.

We shall not fall across
the waiting in ambush of the cursed.
