If You Knew

I'm trying to express my feelings
But it's hard for me to do
I guess I'm insecure about
What you'd do if you knew

I wonder if you've caught on yet
About how I really feel
I think I've tried to hide it
But it's hard for me to conceal

So I wonder if you'll read this
And know who it's about
I think you might feel the same
But I continue to doubt

I'm not sure I can lose you
At least, not yet anyway
I know I must let you go soon
Though I wish that I could stay

I will take my leave soon
Go on to find my life's' place
And even if I move on
Our memories I can never erase

And so this story will end
In tragedy like most
We must let it float away
As would any ghost.
