When you come home

by Valiantpenguin   Feb 8, 2010

I know your favorite color
The exact shade of green
The color of your eyes
A deep green-blue gleam

The taste of your lips
As they press against mine
The feel of your hands
Erasing thoughts from my mind

The feel of your skin
As your body moves above
The sound of your voice
As you whisper to me your love

I know your favorite movie
Even your favorite part
I know when you are happy
I can feel it in my heart

And though I count the steps you take
Each time you have to go
I'll always wait for you my dear
To kiss you when you come home.

Ahh, this was beautiful. i noticed you tried a certain rhyme scheme that didn't quite work out in the last stanza. buuut regardless, this was a great write. it reminds me of my boyfriend, he's going to go into the airforce (not sure when exactly) but i think about it everyyy day. and reading this made me feel like i was living that one moment when he came back home.

    lovely write.
