Flicker

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 9, 2010

Sassy orange pinwheels dance
as I ignore their ignorance
and search for birds of prey.

I am my brother's keeper
for terrain is bitterly rough
but flight highly pernicious.

We must not be everywhere present
but a hidden eye among the unseen.

Here we go again
fleeing from our country.

Then in the instant blink of an eye,
gone.
