Cerebral Prison

by PassionCourageTriumph   Feb 11, 2010

I turn around
There you are
Glaring at me
You begin raising your hand
I'm suffering nothing less
Than unqualified panic

I'm trembling
Awaiting the impact
That will come
When your words strike
Slapping me across the face

I undergo the sting
Deep within my mind
Memories of the fights
Scars of the intimidation
Etched into my sanity

Bracing myself
I stagger
Through the door
Only to perceive no one

Your presence is false
Neither in heart nor person
But mind

My mind
My life

My mental penitentiary

I think you have done a lovely job here, your opening draws the reader in and I am sure in a few situations it is quite relate-able. Even when it's over you still hold those mental scars, i think you have done a nice job stating that. good work.
