The Hot Chocolate Household

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 15, 2010

I wake up to a perfectly delightful essence streaming through my open door.

It's not just another rainy day in New York City.

It's a blissful fresh beginning to a life on the edge of adventure.

I leap off my bed with sleepy snores far off my mind.

Running down the stairs with the remembrance of close care.

I stop mid-step at the bottom as I stare wide-eyed before me.

The normally white kitchen walls are swimming in mud brown puddles.

Rich liquids emanate past and quench my dry morning mouth.

Frothy angel wings deliver sensational cream to and fro.

Tongues of heat ripple through my cold shoulders and melt away hidden fears.

Marshmallow clouds hover at ease above enticed hair strands.

Sugary dots are shot across to bland corners who feel forgotten.

Hunger knows no existence for only happiness sheds its light.

Amidst all these happily discovered joys I see before me a greater one.

Standing in support are the beloved members of my family.

They abandon their personal dreams and instead help set forth mine.

To stare at their individual smiles and realize they are as real as ever.

Nothing can ruin this satisfactory moment that has shown me obedient love.

Outside lightning bolts shall not consider striking our path.

You have opened my eyes to the gift of eternal giving.

You have brought me up in the arms of ubiquitous love.

I laugh from my soul as day continues to stop by and visit.

I could never even think of leaving this touching sunshine.

For it shall never cease to serve as my earthly home.

Hours later I come to acknowledge full realization.

This craving passion we together hold dear is alive.

It has woven our heartstrings into one harmonious masterpiece.

Never can we stray from these charismatic cups of forgiveness.
