The Masked Ball

by Mello193   Feb 17, 2010

Put on your mask
that fits your face
among the liars
find your place

the facade reveals
whats deep inside
the thing you place on your head
only shows what you hide

the mask of security
shows how unsure you really are
but if you ever want to know my face
you know im never far

My favorite stanza was also the first one!
the second stanza, all though it did rhyme, had too many syllables in its 3rd line. This threw off the beat a bit for me.
I dig the idea of the poem, but am unsure what relevance "how far or close you are" to the antagonist plays

I'd have to say that this one is my favorite out of the three I've read. A poet's job is to find a way to say something, but with the best words that fit together to describe it. Your rhyming was spot on, nothing came out forced. Great use of the word facade, you should try using a thesaurus for your other poems, it will strengthen them. Your first stanza was my favorite part.
