Chosen

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 19, 2010

Psychedelic paranoia flashes its furtive smile
upon my taken aback shoulder
and in that instance I fear.
There are those who work themselves
into a frenzy of the human mind
and run out of range dubiously unaware.
Yet I remain stuck between
the crossing of two divergent roads.
It seems my senses have gone cold
possibly removed by shock
like a searching probe that seizes
your attentive intentions.

Blurred contact impairs me from sight
just a vague contour that represents light
stricken with intelligence of some kind.
I attempt to turn my gaze abruptly
but my chin fights back forcefully
every alive muscle shuts down
as I am pulled by a magnetic vein.
I have no other choice but to move
onto a mapped out spotlight
the exact moment I step inside
my internals somersault with denial
and matured change overwhelms me.

Levity leaks aside daunting simplicity
inserting in my heated blood
the key to ultimate happiness.
I do not struggle but only anticipate
strength follows my lead with no question
sacred virtues dissolve on my fingertip
I watch as the disbelieving future
rejects any form of condolence
my intricate mission unravels
I am now claimed by a seraph.
