XIII Pianos

by Namida   Feb 19, 2010

I
Ever present at weddings
The piano announces the bride,
Who is ready to be bound
Forever

II
Sitting in a house
Dust gathers on its lid
The piano waits for the player

III
Worn and well used
When the piano is touched
The soft keys sing

IV
The outer wood of the piano
Shines, its insides rotting away

V
Thirty minutes later
And the child escapes,
Abandoning the piano
Like leftover spinach

VI
The keyboard is jealous
Of the grand piano

VII
The piano croons subtly
In a song
Directed to a lover

VIII
A piano falls out of the sky,
Landing on Tom's head
Gerry scampers away

IX
The piano spoke a language
Understood by all

X
At the raucous party,
Many mill about in
Small little cliques
The piano stands quietly
In its lone corner

XI
The ominous notes of the piano
Increase the suspense
Of a bad horror movie

XII
The concert commences
The piano lurks

XIII
The piano sat quietly in
The store, coveted after
And bought by a wealthy man

*Something random I did for school. Enjoy.
