Devolve

by Timothy S   Mar 21, 2010

Sooner or later, we'll all devolve
Bones will be dust and the humanity gone
Dissolved in the earth which we wreaked havoc upon
The acidity of the oceans become tragically strong
Our ozone layer hardly even a layer at all
A thin sheet barely seen through the eyes of the fall
No history left to read or a memory left to recall
No man left to weep for the death that we've caused
Or a heart left to beat, now filled by void and sad songs
The place that we sleep was never ours all along
We were mother nature's seeds, and now harvesting's all done
Now shards and weeds beneath her feet
Keep strong and faithful, and someday, we will all meet
