My mothers tears.

by Yakari Gabriel   Apr 6, 2010

I used to look at her
and
see in her eyes
a woman so fearless
a woman so strong
she used to be my strength
my reason to push on.

I used to look at her
and see
determination,
and yeah she used to hit me
but that was exactly my motivation

back then,she was still young
so full of life,no one could do her wrong
always so brutally honest
A woman made of steel
always so clear about
what she used to feel

But now I look at her
And I see that her eyes,
are not as bright
are not as green
they look colorless,and hopeless
and they have sadness in between

Now I look at her
And I don't know what to do
I heard she took a pap test
and the results where not that good

I wish I could do something
To bring the old her back
I don't care if she hits me
At least that one wasn't a sad sack

But I'm nothing but teenager
Living in a world of danger
I'm having a hard time
with my own misery
my own lost of reason
its like I'm a bird
but I'm not free,I'm in a prison

And we don't have the best relationship
In fact we can't stand each other at all
But my body is taken over,by all kind of fears
my world just crumbles down, when i see my mothers tears.

How very touching Sweetie! An excellent and emotive piece that explores a daughter and mother relationship. Loved it!
