Last Hope Gone

by Kallie   Apr 9, 2010

Through times and trials
I have learned so much
Of greater things
And the importance of touch
Chasing doesn't help
If someone chooses to go
It only makes it harder
That's something I know
And though I wish to find you
Wrap you back into my arms
I will sit in this room
And listen to the alarms
The ones that are screaming
Of how perfect he was
And I can't let him go
Why? Just because
This time I won't listen
I will let you slip through my fingers
I'll watch the spots heal
There will be one that lingers
But it too shall fade
Like all of the rest
And if this is important
If its some kind of test
Then tell me that I passed
Because I can't handle the pain
The whirlwind relationship
Has left yet another stain
And I suppose that's okay
I just have to find the one
And I guess you aren't it
Because now we are done
And all good things
Must come to an end
And you gave me the option
To remain your friend
Honestly now, looking back
What happened that night
I don't know if we can
Maybe we could if we had a fight
But we left so calmly
Had the strangest of goodbyes
And I have this feeling
That what you told me were lies
So when I return
As only your friend
Will you tell me the truth
So I can have my end
And I should've seen
What I can now see
That you weren't as perfect
And weren't right for me
You took what I said
And you turned it around
You laughed at me
Nothing was sound
I am not some child
Though I may be young and naive
But isn't that our joke
Why is it you choose to decieve
And yes you were different
One of a kind
But I'm ignoring my heart
And listening to my mind
Heartbreak, it happens
I've learned along the way
We can't change the past
We've had our last day
And how we continue
To talk and hang out
I haven't any idea
Or what this is about
Please my darling
Tell me I've won
So we can go back
And you can call me hon
But is that what I want
Well I truly don't know
But I will figure it out
For one last show.
