Little Girl

by PassionCourageTriumph   Jun 15, 2010

Sitting there silently
Waiting at the window
Hours pass
Daddy forgot again

He forgot about her
His daughter of five

Tears streaming down her face
She runs to her room
Shuts the door
Curls up on her bed

It's been a month
Since she last saw him
She wonders what
She had done wrong

Years go by
She strives to be
The girl that she thinks
Her Daddy would love

Maturing quickly
Losing sight of her childhood
Her father
He never appeared to care

Daddy loves you, darling girl
Please do not shed another tear

She's grown up now
Daddy's chosen to return
His opportunity is lost
That little girl is done with the pain

Pushing Daddy away
It's too late for second chances
You have hurt your only daughter
Maybe you'll gain forgiveness someday

From this not so little girl
