Through Your Eyes

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 25, 2010

I had a dream last night
when nobody seemed to breath
there was only silence,
words shattered
without any voice.
I found myself
high above common ground,
standing on top
of the world
and its heavy cries.

What would I say
if all I could see
was their pain
crashing against dark walls
unable to be revived.
Resistance comes too easily
I can't watch brokenness
thrive in human hearts
just waiting...
I'd have to jump
because your creation
is drowning
in their own fears.

Who will take them away?

Next minute I'm wide awake
but I can't get my mind cleared,
like thoughts never ending
I'm stuck in this century.
Wondering how
life would be
letting my soul be heard,
and share everything I know
of who you are
and who you've made me to be.

What would I say
if all I could see
was their pain
crashing against dark walls
unable to be revived.
Resistance comes too easily
I can't watch brokenness
thrive in human hearts
just waiting...
I'd have to jump
because your creation
is drowning
in their own fears.

Time rushes at me
waves that are crushing
my will
I realize with each push
I'm not here to be a hero,
you are my deliverer
and in your name
I will fight for you.

Maybe I'll accept this way for you...

I have to trust you'll catch me
and pull me through the heartache
thundering where I stand.

What would I say
if all I could see
was their pain
crashing against dark walls
unable to be revived.
Resistance comes too easily
I can't watch brokenness
thrive in human hearts
just waiting...
I'd have to jump
because your creation
is drowning
in their own fears.

Who will share the sun
that you've created graciously?

This is a song I just wrote and really felt inspiration towards. What if we found ourselves looking down at the universe? What if we were looking through our Lord's eyes? What would we see? Pain, broken hearts, lies, abuse? We have a part to love and fight for the truth to shed light to all lost souls.
