Try to be better than your Old Man

by Timothy   Aug 5, 2010

Stand as tall as you can stand,
Try to be better than your old man;
Go out in the great big world,
Let your sails be unfurled.

Don't look back to the farm,
If you did, your heart would be unarmed;
The big city is straight ahead,
Time to turn this half-breed into a purebred.

Say good-bye to mama forever,
Because those ties must be severed;
Stand as tall as you can stand,
Try to be better than your old man.
