A Few Wishes...

I wish the rich would give to the needy
Wish the love for money
didn't plant the seeds, To the trees of the greedy
Wish people could see that there is no way to tranquility
Just that peace is the only way to humanity
In this day in and age it's a nine to five just to keep your sanity
And there is so much vanity, in believing that love conquers
Like a kid who believes in Santa Claus, the boogie man, or closet monsters
I wish that money didn't make the world go round
Passing judgment as you pretend to look down
As if you were on a pedestal with a materialistic crown
I wish people had more respect than just to tell you a lie
As you take what they expel as truth's cry
I wish no one ever had to reply with a good-bye
Wish the lord for once would talk back as you speak to the sky
Been following him for so long now without a reply
I wish that I never doubted him when the lights got dim
When the weather got cold and the dough got thin
Holding on to just faith of a broken limb, attached to a old rotted tree
I wish people didn't have to use such deceit
To conceal their retreat, of a lover they need to meet
I wish I didn't have to wish for these amenities
