My Identity

My Identity

Verse 1:
I feel the rage pulsating through my fingertips
The copper coming from my bitten lips
My breath is shallow my heart has been torn
Righteous are the ones who push in the thorns

Chorus:
I keep my emotions stuffed inside
Pushed deep down is the safest place to hide
If you take my hate away there would be nothing left
Nothing left
I, I hate... and that's me
My identity

Verse 2:
I've bore this cross for such a great length
Could you look me in the eyes, would you have the strength
Through the glass I bear my soul, wickedness runs deep
Over run and run right through, sadistically I deny myself defeat

Chorus:
I keep my emotions stuffed inside
Pushed deep down is the safest place to hide
If you take my hate away there would be nothing left
Nothing left
I, I hate... and that's me
My identity

Bridge:
And when everything falls away
When there's nothing left to say
Hate will still be mine
And I'll be fine, I'll be fine

Chorus:
I keep my emotions stuffed inside
Pushed deep down is the safest place to hide
If you take my hate away there would be nothing left
Nothing left
I, I hate... and that's me
My identity

This lyrics were extremely profound. I know what it is like to write song lyrics, I have written a couple myself, some in process, some just in my head, but it speaks loud, even if the melody is just one you created and now know.

The thought of this, it is something that makes you reach in your soul. I know with temptations and self-doubt, it is easy to say you hate yourself, all around you, that is who you are. It sure is hard coming out of that, to realize something more....to appreciate other beauty.

Precise and powerful words. Verse 1 had to be my favorite, it just flowed to me and was inspiring at the same time.

    God bless and keep writing!
