Walking away from the Sun

by Poet on the Piano   Sep 20, 2010

I let liquid sorrow drown my heartbeat
as my knees drop on the numb rooftop,
morning comes so bitterly.

Emotions trap me like a songbird
caught on a thorn bush,
and regret clouds the colour of love.

All I ever wanted was to be yours.

Letters scarred and scattered by dark
are signed hopelessly to you,
through every breath,
I live longer than you.
