Before you

by Robert Daniel Long   Oct 4, 2010

Cold and dark
Were the skies above
Barren
Was my life

No rhyme
No reason
No need for love
But
That was before you

Before you
I had no direction
Wondering
Aimlessly through life
Nothing
To hold on too
Nothing to see
Nothing
Had a hold on me
Life in itself
Had no meaning
But
That was before you

And now
That you're here
Life
I hold dear
Each moment with you
Is a new beginning
The world has a new meaning

For your love
Sends my heart spinning
Seeing everything
From a new prospective
Knowing......, before you
Life itself was lost
But

That was before you

An excellent poem of love and emotion. Worded with realism and how life can be before that special one comes along. Keep up the good work.
