Emptiness

I look at you and I see
Emptiness.
I speak to you and you reply with
Emptiness.

How can you talk to me
And feel nothing?
What about our history?
Doesn't that mean anything?

I search for your love but all I can find is
Emptiness.
Your love for me has evaporated into
Emptiness.

I thought you'd always care about me
No matter what.
But now I am the least person you care about
And you want nothing to do with me.

I search into your soul and find
Emptiness.
I want the man I fell in love with but all that's left is
Emptiness.

I need you by my side
Instead you push me away
I need your affection and appreciation
But you would rather avoid me

I wonder why you changed into
Emptiness.
I search for your heart but all I can find is
Emptiness.

    I'm glad I came back and re-read this.

    I really liked how it's not like stuff had faded away, or even that you were given a reason and then left, it's just straight emptiness, there is nothing there and it's such a hard thing to come face to face with but when it does happen it's so overwhelming and yet you go and write a beautiful poem about it that captures it perfectly. Great job =]

    Wow!!! This poem just takes your heart and twists it! The emotion in it was very raw and very real and that is why it is an amazing piece. The stuff we go through hurts, but when we write it out it truly helps and makes wonderful poetry. I thought this poem was amazing! :)
