Stray

"and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.- John 10:12"

I'm walking, alone, down the tunnel, once again

I've strayed in the wilderness, even further than the end

The brutal, cold darkness blots out my bright light

As the winter snow melts under my feet tonight

My eyes are far strained, sense of direction torn

My heart beats for guidance, but my mind has been forewarned

Where will you lead me next, old, dead flesh?

Which brier patch shall I roam?

Though my members sit in silence,

I am anywhere but the comforts of home

The beast seems to chase me, now

Yet, I never gave a fair fight

I didn't hesitate retreating

As I spread my wings for flight

Where to will Your little sheep venture?

Will her next journey be true?

O, if only I'd stayed the course

And never had strayed from you
