Pillar of Life

by Shinobi   Oct 29, 2010

Illusion in smoke and mirrors
When the head is clear, the eyes are blind
Detached from every cold living creature
Because I know what lays behind

Life shouts at us when we are deaf
Touches when we are numb and cold
Tastes when we are resting in graves
Only because we saw what we were told

As the saying goes on in life
We never trust, but our own soul
Because demons seem to hide
In every cherished moment we stole

For she knows me by heart
And neglects in mind
As from the very start
I remain bare and blind

The pillar I relayed upon in youth
Shatters when the years grow old
As I'm slowly drawn to the truth
Of a reality, so distant and cold
