I See Your Face

by Robert Daniel Long   Nov 1, 2010

I watch
As the dawn greets the day
With all it's colors
In play
Because in it
I see your face
Burning bright and brilliant
Like the sun

The budding trees
And the flowers on the hill
The nesting birds
The early morning chill
It's in the breath of life
Breathing in everything
In all this splendor

I see your face

In the dead of night
When I'm asleep
You comfort me
With loving arms
You lead the way
Guiding me through
The longest of days

When times are hard
And the road is rough
I look up
And I see your face

Your presence is everywhere
It's written
Across all we see
It's in the hearts
Of those who believe

If but only we open our eyes

I see your face
In the loving Father
Looking back at me

I see your face
When I'm in your arms
And you comfort me
My soul needing rest
And when
From this world I depart
My duty complete

I'll see your face
