Who does the hero have?

by Lemon Squeezy   Nov 28, 2010

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

When they travel to a distant place,
When the enemy is vicious whom they face.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

When held captive in a prison camp,
Or beaten bloody by the Taliban.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

On cold and restless dessert night,
When they feel they'll lose at freedoms fight.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Perhaps its the men of old and their great power,
Like Roosevelt, Washington, and Eisenhower.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Perhaps its those men who raised and reared,
The men who into combat launch fully geared.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Maybe its generals who fought valiantly,
Like Grant, MacArthur, and Robert E. Lee.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Perhaps it is the men and women for which they fight,
Those who give them support each day and night.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Maybe they look to you and I the American "Zeros,"
Perhaps we are the people they view as heroes.

Who do they look to as heroes?
Who is the heroes hero?

Are you a heroes hero? Do you support your troops,
Or are you the heroes nemesis, part of the hate group.

Whose hero are you tonight?

Dedication: I hereby dedicate this poem to the men and women who daily continue to battle for the freedoms that I enjoy. This poem is written to our All American heroes by an all out American zero. Thank you for your sacrifice.
