Parachutes and Airplanes

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 3, 2010

You taught me how to
climb a ladder into the sky,
a hundred eyes could not
guess our distance,
for we are another galaxy.

You chased after my tail,
dancing life that jolted
my throat into shouts
- victorious together.

I never want to jump
for my heart is swinging
onto homophonic wings
where we sing a world.

The supply of air
at our fingertips,
wink like magic
as seasons rotate
youthfully.

Never loosen your hold
on my heart.

You can't catch me,
I'm too high
won't you run with me?
