Waking Up In Silver

by Lady Nik   Dec 8, 2010

Knowing how lust
and love differ has
somehow planted it's
way into my brain.

It lives now...as all
thoughts do. Darkness
so thick, too heavy
to just push away
from view.

I gave you all
of me and I expected
the same from you...
a mistake of my own
heart.

I never knew you
were a dark cloud
inside my heart until
the day after the tiger
inside of me calmed down to
a gentle sea breeze...

You tainted me...destroyed
me..but like a phoenix I will
rise from the ashes of
my own destruction.

Your absence now
means a silver lining will
reign throughout the
realms of my soul.

I am free of you now.

The perfect exorcism of a bad relationship, a glorious release from the dark cloud that had been haunting you. so vividly and completely portrayed in your poem. Love the imagery of the calm sea here as a metaphor for your new peace of mind.

Wow. I love the second to last stanza and the very last line. That was so well written, I love the images you can create with your words! 5/5!!!
