My Night Sky

A star within my night sky, shining brightly spreading the hope
I glance up from time to time, just to glimpse you so I can cope
Because once upon a time on that fateful day, you left my side
That fateful day, the one that I cried, when you, my love, died

You left me forever to become a part of my night sky instead
Left me here on Earth, in disarray and no way to clear my head
The memories filled my mind, as I glanced up at my night sky
You, my bright star, sparkle within my eyes, and I begin to cry

That fateful day that you passed away and left me here alone
Constantly reminiscing, calling your voicemail over the phone
I can't just give you up, not yet, no matter where you've gone
Just because you're in my night sky, I can't help but mourn

You were my soul, my other half, my beating heart forever
We were inseparable, one mind, two bodies, always together
But God took you away, on that fateful day, into my night sky
Now you're my shining star, and I know that I must not cry
