All Over My Skin

by megann anne   Dec 23, 2010

I lie awake contemplating
despair that could me mine
if this is all just a dream
or part of your design

But in my dreams are only scary things
and I'm not afraid tonight
to open up my heart to you
let the butterflies take flight

If I was falling through the ocean
your words would warm me still
if all you did was say my name
my heart would get that thrill

It's the thrill that powers cities
which lure the dreamer in
the butterflies are in my eyes
and all over my skin
