Remember, for your love

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 31, 2010

I taught you the snowy keys
on your mother's concert player,
and you must improvise
because she still records
every melody that returns
to her antiques room.

Soothe your calluses
and ring that show tune,
don't take no as a request.

If you carry on long enough
you'll hear her aria
heightened through the
pedals' pleasant throbbing.
