You had a heart that beat for you
a smile that was always there for you
with a simple sound of your voice or sight of your face
you had a person who loved you so true and deep
who felt joy simply by being in your presence or
listening to the sound of your voice
who felt peace with just a touch
yet it was all a lie
a lie that was there from there very beginning
for all those times...
could you not tell me truth
when the simple truth was all i ever asked of you
it makes a mockery of all that you have said or done
because you could not keep the one thing i truly asked of you
and so..
my heart had broke
my light has scattered
and i no longer feel peace but sorrow
sadness and despair
anger and disappointment
i no longer smile from the heart
and what is left is mended
held on by a bare thread
