River Boats and Heart Beats

by Nobody   Jan 10, 2011

Eyes have dulled
limp fingers loosing their hold
His life is at an end

The lungs cease in easy submission
death stands at his doorstep
the heart beats one last burst

With eyes close, he departs from me
and at the end his journey
the boatman awaits to ferry him off
