Those Three Words

by White Orchid   Jan 15, 2011

Racing thoughts in my head
Don't want fear to tread
Scared of the future that waits
Want these thoughts to go away

You are a treasure I've found
Not worth throwing away
Images of us in my head abound
Because I told you I would wait

Waiting is the hardest part
Not knowing what it will be
When this time it involves the heart
Of another person and not just me

Regardless of what happens next
These feelings I wish to express
Words I spoke I'll never regret
For I may get a man I deeply respect

Beautiful and heartfelt words. This reminds me of a long distance relationship in a sense, of the longing and not knowing what the future may hold for you two. Especially when it comes to waiting, but distance makes the heart grow fonder. Brilliant work, much enjoyed.
    Take care

    Again, epically lame comment >_<

I like how this one flowed, and it conveys the importance of our feelings being secured and sheltered, not in the sense of bottling them up, but in the sense that they should be assigned a certain amount of worth, that they shouldn't just be tossed around on a whim. Very solid, well-founded feeling to this one, great job.

Awwww ... this is such a lovely poem. I really enjoyed it. The title caught my eye and I loved the way you expressed your feelings in this poem... I like that it was unpredictable, and I think it's stronger and better that you didn't actually write what those three words are in the poem... It makes it more mysterious and interesting!

It gave me a good feeling at the end :) Well done!!
