Misconception

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 19, 2011

I think these days it is too simple
to fall into blame, cursing our life,
so we find a scapegoat for our guilt
burning grace and running away with
this idea that we were created
out of anger and self-absorption.

After all, who are we to live in such waste?

If only we would try to understand
who monitors our heartbeats and waits
to hear us needing Him.

His words are beautiful and stretch
deeper than oceans, hidden hearts,
we do wonder why he has brought
such vast suffering and destruction.

But we only add to it with our thoughts
that turn into spears, and mere vengeance;
our Lord breathed softly his flesh to mend
our wounds when we would call night's tragedy.

The Author of more blessings than the war
and bombs of our injected secrets,
He is as day and night have compromised
and held true to their eternal light.

We need to swallow our pride and realize
the greatest sacrifice of his life,
for if the world and all relationships were
perfect forever, how would we learn
and grow in our faith? We would turn into
nothing and not go through the motions;
the Lord has a Will we must strive for
because as much as we may question
and accuse, He knew us before we were
conceived in our mother's womb.
He reads our soul and knows what is
better, the paths that will lead us to him
and learn us through understanding.

Author notes

God wants us to come to Him, His purpose for us may still be a mystery but that is how we journey and discover the virtues and values to our faith. We need to entrust our deepest desires and heart to our Lord, have him guide us because He breathed life into us from His holy image. The least we can do he trust him and hand over our life...

It may seem like God is a hateful figure who never makes miracles even though he has the power to, but this is completely past the point I am making. There is hope, we just don't look for it in the right places, or we have prideful hearts and stubborn hears that don't want to believe there is such a promise as Heaven. But God gives us strength and sacraments to let our voice be heard in the world, He has a mission for us and if the world revolved and was perfect, we would never have that hunger to do good and understand faith.
