The tears of the sky

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 5, 2011

On that day you peacefully passed
from your family,
those who never strayed even when
miles stuck holes in the road,
I was away without you.
I didn't realize who you were
or what you had given me
as I grew up in your arms,
until your voice left my ears
echoing from clouds' travel.
I may never know everything
you brought to strangers,
but I can remember you did
all you could to protect me,
your love mended my heart.

Now the horizon is breaking
and I am suddenly falling,
wanting to lean against
your heart, the one that
caused the earth to cry,
the sacred soul that left
my spirit in a rush.

Whenever it rains,
you come down again.
