Forbidden

by Shawn Williams   Feb 9, 2011

I was betrayed today
His favorite dress shirt
with lip stick stains

Her numbers in his pocket
My suburban world
crumbles in pain

Insecure
Do I look better than her?
Hurt
There’s no trust
Betrayed
Your words smell of lust
Dismayed

I hear you call her darling
soft words fallen on forbidden ear
Tears upon tears
Ancient walls built with fear

Pain injected
words hurt like metal
Names like flames
pot call kettle

We battle then settle
With less than optimum
Live lives secluded
Pass in the night neon

Strangers make arrangements with legalities
Children grasp mommas dress
Infested with sad malady
Sadly they will recreate that same reality
They cant be happy
They’ve only seen tragedy
