Anointed with Oil

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 9, 2011

Drill baby drill a little bit faster
No need for a deep water disaster
The horizon oil rig was too far out
An environmental setback no doubt

Now we're worried about the Suez canal
Or if all the Arabs will remain our pal
Speculators with big smiles on their faces
Are buying up the supplies in strange places

All of us poor peons that work and toil
Are still hopelessly addicted to oil
Got a cam in my ride that is so bad chump
I can pass anything but a gas pump

Only thing left is assume the position
Doesn't take a psychic premonition
Everything will go up except wages
I have not got a pay raise in ages

We know what's coming we've been there before
When our foot is heavy our butt is sore
Four dollars for just a gallon of gas!
Wish they had that nozzle stuck up their ass

Michael your poem is the funniest I've read in weeks. I love the style and the rhymes and the meaning. They rhymed so well and still didn't lose the flavor. Well done mate. Well done.div
