A very personal poem that really opens up your heart to the reader. I can feel the love you have for your son in these stanzas you have written. The beauty of this poem lies not within the structure of the poem or the rhyming but within the words and the love you put into them! :]

I couldn't really find one stanza as I liked them all and I really like this poem as I have never had a mother who loved me and this poem really gives me some good insight on what it would be like! :] Your words will always leave a impact on me.

In all, you did a wonderful job getting out your feelings for your son and also describing him in your own way. Good imagery was another thing that if found helpful as I was able to see what he looked like. The rhyming was good as well and didn't seem forced. Great job and keep writing!

    Hello my dear,
I remember how I felt when I first became a parent. Excitement, worry and uncertainty. These feelings are still with me now and will always be. Your poem takes the reader through these emotions.
I can only imagine how daunting it must have been being so young yourself. And yet, you feel blessed to have had a son, to always have love for another no matter how near or far. Your repeated line 'there you were, my son' is so symbolic of this eternal, unbreakable bond between mother and child.

    An inspirational and touching read.

This was filled with great tender for a child's appreciation and entering into your world. I think there is a special hungering to become a mother, and even as young as I am, I long to hold one of my own. "A son"- to really imagine someone so close and beautiful, describe him, is gentle yet powerful. I loved the ease of the rhyme and the loving repetition that made my heart smile to know your love for him is much more between you two. How wonderful! God bless you and may you all be blessed forever!

A beautiful poem indeed a piece of your heart. I can't even begin to understand the joys and pains, the trials and accomplishments, that you've went through as a young mother. Every word was held with care. Brilliant!
    Take care
