Too Much On Misery's Heart

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 9, 2011

If You (and You did) read my heart
and know my name before I
was even conceived,
have You also restored
a place at Your table's side?
You teach us we are
seeking holiness,
expecting no less of us.
I do Lord want to be a saint
but find it hard to live humility
out like You showed in Your Passion.
I am too pleasing and prideful
yet I year to grow to reach You.

Do You know I still love You?

I am so sorry if I have abandoned
hurt, betrayed far too often.
Please forgive me, I wish never
to crucify You again
after all the weight You carried.

Are you really inviting us in?

I search without knowing where to go
but You have such a radiant plan here,
unrevealed and possibly misunderstood.

Is this how it should be?

Please guide me to trust fully,
to not only accept and receive You
but tell others such perfect praise,
the glorious arms where You caress,
covering us with is right to believe.
You never deceive but only want
the happiest path for us,
even if that means
physical, mental, spiritual
sacrifice what pain.

I say I do!
