Why So Joyful?

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 10, 2011

-

Everywhere I look
children are skipping,
singing renewed tunes;
this day is like time,
it passes monotonously
colors blending
with expectancy.

Shouting out to the
blissful rush-
I question everyone's
sudden excitement,
for all the hate
why are there so many
who now love?

A tiny girl
dressed in yellow ribbons,
takes my hand firmly
and smiles her brightest,

"Don't you know, Sir,
the Creator of
all the world
has risen from darkness!
He wants us to come home
and welcome Him back."

I sit stunned on the Church's steps,
having now noticed the path I was
walking along, the path to freedom,
to bells vibrant and beautiful.

I have reason to rejoice.

This unknown sun to me genuinely cares....

I think I know this feeling...so far to reach yet I want it to free me.

Home.
