Still Here

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 12, 2011

Leaving someone is unforgettable,
a fire undying yet struggling
to find a memory to warm.
When death strikes the weakest,
it is often seen as a challenge of faith
for those who believe in
the truth of everlasting.
There can be no blame
hidden among lost flames
nor can understanding
be reached always.
Sometimes love drifts,
but it never leaves our hearts,
a true home to keep.
And even though life may fade,
we still have that last
trust of light
to end our sorrows.
