The Abandoned

by Maegan Bravo   Apr 21, 2011

Staring at the clock,
Hearing it's
Tick-tock.

Wishing for a brighter tomorrow,
Knowing that truly,
My life is all sorrow.

No home to return to,
For I was given the boot.
No shoulder to cry on.
I'm all alone.

I watched the destruction,
I watched the walls
Fall apart.

It was tragic,
Truly a sight to see.
Hidden behind this mask,
Was there ever truly,
Anything?

I like this poem, a little dark, quite expressive, seems real. And I'll bet its not just anything behind the mask, I'm sure its everything and its yearning to glow, so dont hide it, LET IT SHINE!
