Another Statistic

by Jenni Marie   May 1, 2011

Bewildered, so confused and lost
At how easily you find it to become so cold
Your side of the bed is vacant once again
Covers unruffled, unslept in...empty

Passion that once flickered in those eyes
Diminished, nothing left but dying embers
Hearts once melded together as one
Now have their own beat, separated...forever

Same old story, it always ends where it began
So ironic that we left so many things unsaid
Yet there is now nothing left to say
The thread we've been hanging on by...severed

Just another statistic, another broken fairytale
Something that left us euphoric, now full of bitterness
A heavy heart is something I'm learning to live with
Because once again you found it so easy...to walk away

"Because once again you found it so easy...to walk away"

    HEART BREAK ING.

This was such a sad poem, the whole piece. I could feel the sadness and the pain...wow. I hope this isn't something you've experienced NOW, but a past memory.

I can't get over the emotion in this poem. It's so strong and so real...something everyone can (and shouldn't) relate to. Beautiful writing!
